A weapon with meta potential behind a paywall would be a real problem for any community tournament, and for now, that door seems closed.

That said, we'd like to be more critical of the seasonal weapon model in general. Every new addition forces competitive players to readjust their setups, creators to churn out content against the clock and tournament organizers to decide whether or not to allow the new weapon without enough data. The lack of clear stats at launch, as is the case here, feeds that uncertainty. If the Cypher 091 comes in strong and has to be nerfed a few weeks later, the one who loses out is whoever invested time in mastering it.

For the team's creators, on the other hand, this is an opportunity.
