One of the most talked-about releases this month, The Blood of Dawnwalker, the dark fantasy action RPG from Rebel Wolves, already has a roadmap beyond its launch. As reported by Vida Extra, studio director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed in an interview with the official PlayStation Poland channel that the team is preparing a solid amount of new content that will be coming to the game soon.

The centerpiece of that package is a New Game Plus mode, the community's most frequent request since day one. It matters because a time-driven narrative RPG like this one leaves a lot of content unseen on a first playthrough, and a second run with advantages completely changes how you approach Coen's adventure. For players who squeeze every drop out of their games and for creators who make a living replaying and showcasing alternate routes, this is no minor addition.

What you need to know

  • Rebel Wolves is working on new content for The Blood of Dawnwalker, according to its director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz.
  • The announcement was made in an interview with the official PlayStation Poland channel and reported by Vida Extra.
  • The standout addition is New Game Plus mode, heavily requested by fans since launch.
  • The studio has not yet explained exactly how that mode will work, nor has it given specific dates.
  • The rest of the content in development has not been detailed either for now.

What we know and what we don't

Let's be honest here: the confirmed information is thin. Tomaszkiewicz has said there is content on the way and that New Game Plus is among what is being prepared, but he declined to go into detail about how it will work. Everything else, for now, is interpretation. The most logical reading, which Vida Extra also points to, is that Coen would start the second playthrough with more accumulated power, allowing players to focus on the story and side quests from a different perspective, without the pressure of building the character from scratch.

That approach would make particular sense in this game. Rebel Wolves' adventure is designed so that not everything can be done in a single playthrough: the limited time forces you to leave content behind on the first attempt. A well-designed New Game Plus would be the natural way to recover those branches, encounters and decisions that were left out, without feeling like you are retreading the same path.

Who this announcement affects

For the average player, the news is simply good: more reasons to return to a game that just came out. For the more competitive community and for content creators, the implications are bigger. A New Game Plus usually opens the door to runs at adjusted difficulty, build comparisons and alternate routes that provide fresh material for videos, streams and guides. It is also the point at which an RPG goes from being a one-time experience to a game that stays in the library and in the conversation for months.

What we don't know is just as relevant: there is no date, no description of the system, and no specifics on what other content will accompany the mode. Until the studio clears up those points, any very specific expectations are premature.

Our take

At Underworld Lordz, we are pleased to see Rebel Wolves listening to its community so early. The fact that the loudest request since launch is precisely a New Game Plus says a lot about the quality of the base game: people are not asking for fixes, they are asking for more reasons to keep playing. That is a luxury not every release this year can boast, and the studio is right to capitalize on that momentum.

That said, we would like more specifics. An announcement without details or a timeline serves to keep the hype going, but it leaves players in limbo: do I start a second playthrough now or wait for the mode? For creators who plan series and streams weeks in advance, that uncertainty is a real problem. A New Game Plus that only scales Coen's power without touching the difficulty or the limited-time structure would be a missed opportunity; the game's design calls for something more ambitious than a simple level carryover.

Our position, in short: a good sign, with execution still to be proven. If Rebel Wolves understands that replayability is the key to its own design, New Game Plus could be the addition that turns The Blood of Dawnwalker into a community staple rather than a one-month release.
