GTA Online Dresses Up for Halloween: Triple Payouts, Ghosts and GTA$2 Million

Rockstar Games has already lit up the jack-o'-lanterns in GTA Online, the multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto V. This time the Halloween celebration isn't limited to a single weekend: it runs for all of October. According to Vandal, the event brings themed activities, boosted rewards, free clothing and items, weekly gifts and, to wrap it all up, a final bonus of GTA$2 million.
Why does it matter? GTA Online is still one of the most active games in streaming and community circles, and a full month of multipliers changes the routine of anyone who plays daily. If you optimize every hour of grinding, or if you're a creator who needs fresh material every week, October becomes a window to stack up cash, RP and content with less effort than usual.

What you need to know
- The celebration lasts all of October, with weekly gifts and a final bonus of GTA$2 million.
- Halloween Survivals, Slasher modes, the San Andreas Super Sport Series and Community Races pay triple GTA$ and RP.
- UFO Business Battles, pumpkin collecting, Bail Office bounties and patrol missions give double rewards.
- Ghosts Exposed pays double GTA$, and photographing all ten spirits unlocks its themed jacket.
- The Slasher clone, the Phantom Car and the peyote plants are back.
Where your time pays off most
The way the multipliers are spread out makes Rockstar's intention clear: push players toward group modes and races. Here's how the rewards break down based on the published information:
| Activity | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Halloween Survivals | 3x GTA$ and RP |
| Slasher modes | 3x GTA$ and RP |
| San Andreas Super Sport Series | 3x GTA$ and RP |
| Community Races | 3x GTA$ and RP |
| UFO Business Battles | 2x |
| Pumpkin collecting | 2x |
| Bail Office bounties | 2x |
| Patrol missions | 2x |
| Ghosts Exposed | 2x GTA$ |
For those coming from the competitive side, the most interesting detail is that Community Races and the San Andreas Super Sport Series are in the triple-payout group. It's the perfect excuse to set up practice sessions with the team and make them profitable on top of that.
Paranormal events return to Los Santos
The most colorful part of the event is the return of supernatural happenings. Ghosts Exposed once again invites you to roam the city camera in hand: finding and photographing its ten spirits earns you the matching jacket, and the activity pays double GTA$ throughout the event.
On top of that, three old favorites are back: the Slasher clone, the Phantom Car and the peyote plants. They aren't new, just returning from previous seasons, but they're part of community folklore and still create moments that work really well in short clips and live streams.

Our take
Here at Underworld Lordz, we see it clearly: it's a good month for grinding, but not a month for new content. Almost everything arriving is something we've already seen in previous Halloweens, and Rockstar is once again leaning on multipliers and recycled content instead of fresh ideas. It works because the formula is proven, but at this point the community deserves more than the same dish with a different sauce.
That said, the reward design makes sense for our kind of player. Having races and team modes pay triple rewards coordinated play, and we love that. If you have a crew, set up blocks of Survivals and Slasher instead of grinding solo: you'll earn more and have more fun. As for the GTA$2 million at the end, it's a solid incentive to stay active all month, though it's worth checking the conditions carefully once Rockstar spells them out before taking anything for granted.
For content creators, October is gold: ghost hunts, Slasher clone sightings, Phantom Car chases and peyote trips are ideal material for shorts, compilations and themed streams. That said, the competition for attention will be fierce because everyone will be recording the same thing. Whoever brings their own angle, whether it's a challenge, a competitive format or humor, will be the one who stands out.
What do you think?
A whole month of triple payouts and paranormal events sounds tempting, but it also smells like a rerun. Are you going to squeeze everything out of GTA Online's Halloween with the team, or do you think Rockstar should stop recycling events and bring genuinely new content?
