Stellar Blade lands on Switch 2 with a free demo and Bayonetta outfits for everyone

Shift Up has stepped on the gas with Stellar Blade ahead of its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2. As reported by Vandal, the Korean developer has already published a free demo on the Nintendo eShop, so any owner of the console can try Eve's adventure before the full version goes on sale on November 5. The company also used the stage of Tokyo Game Show 2026 to show a trailer focused on its collaboration with Bayonetta, PlatinumGames' action series.

The news matters for two reasons. The first is that Stellar Blade, until now tied to the PlayStation and PC ecosystem, opens up to a completely different player base, and it does so with a demo that lets you check first-hand how it runs on Nintendo's hybrid hardware. The second is that the Bayonetta content will not be a Switch 2 exclusive draw: Shift Up has confirmed that the four outfits will also come to PS5 and PC for free, something that does not always happen when a major franchise jumps to a new platform.

Releasing a demo before the game, confirming a complete cartridge and not splitting the player base with exclusive content are three moves that respect the consumer. For anyone coming from the competitive scene who values precise controls, the demo is the perfect tool to decide wisely whether the Switch 2 version is the right one for them or whether it is better to stick with PS5 or PC, where performance is already a known quantity.

For content creators, the window is an interesting one. The Stellar Blade and Bayonetta crossover brings together two communities with a lot in common in terms of style and gameplay, and the new outfits provide fresh material for comparisons, combat showcases and reaction videos.
