ARAM Mayhem Gets Even Wilder: Five New Augments, Including a Giant Bomb and Bees

According to PCGamesN, ARAM Mayhem is getting five new augments in the next League of Legends patch. Three of them are already getting people talking: a giant bomb, one that fills the match with bees, and another so risky it can end up killing you. Riot has decided that the chaos of its most laid-back mode still had room to grow.
It might look like minor news, but it carries more weight than it seems. Alternative modes are where plenty of players go when they need a break from the pressure of ranked. They are also where content creators get their most shared clips. Every new augment changes what can happen in a match. When the list includes explosions, insects and upgrades that turn against you, the message is clear: you don't come here to play seriously, you come here to have fun.

What you need to know
- Five new augments are coming to ARAM Mayhem with the next League of Legends patch.
- One of them revolves around a giant bomb.
- Another brings bees into the match. Yes, bees.
- At least one is a double-edged sword, because it can kill you.
- The source information comes from PCGamesN. The available summary doesn't include exact values or effects, so we'll have to wait for the patch notes.
Why augments change the mode so much
ARAM is already chaotic by definition: a single lane, random champions and near-constant fights. Mayhem adds augments, upgrades that transform what your champion can do and turn every match into a different combination. With them, the mode no longer depends only on which champion you get, but also on how you build around it. That's why every expansion of the pool makes such a difference.
Five augments at once is no small thing. The more options there are, the harder it is for the same strategies to repeat, and the more absurd combinations show up. That variety is exactly what keeps a casual mode alive. The names and descriptions that have surfaced also show where Riot is heading: flashy effects that are easy to understand and designed to create memorable moments rather than fine-tune stats.
The augment that can kill you
The most interesting of the five is, without a doubt, the one that puts whoever picks it at risk. That risk-and-reward design opens up a lot of possibilities. It forces you to think before diving in and punishes recklessness, and when it goes wrong, the result is usually hilarious for everyone except the victim. In a mode where so many decisions are made on instinct, adding an option that demands a bit of calculation is a smart touch.
Our take
Here at Underworld Lordz we like what we see, with a few reservations. ARAM Mayhem isn't trying to be competitive, and that's fine. It works as a release valve, and for anyone who competes every week, being able to jump into a match where the worst thing that can happen is getting chased by a swarm has real value. Riot continuing to invest in this mode, instead of letting it die like other limited-time events, is a good sign.
For content creators, this is gold. A giant bomb and a bunch of bees are perfect material for clips, compilations and streams where the audience reacts to every disaster. The suicidal augment also promises epic fails that will spread on their own. If you make League content and don't have a "worst deaths with the new augment" video lined up, you're already late.
Now for the critical part. More chaos doesn't always mean more fun. If any of these augments turns out too strong, the mode could fill up with identical matches where everyone picks the same thing, and the fun wears off fast. Riot will need to keep a close eye on balance, even in a casual mode. Randomness is fun when everyone has the same chance to win, not when a single upgrade decides the match.
What do you think?
Do you like Riot going all-in on total chaos in ARAM Mayhem, or do you think the mode was already messy enough? Would you pick the augment that can kill you without a second thought, or do you prefer to play it safe?
