Forza Horizon 6: Playground admits it has been too quiet and promises changes

The Forza Horizon 6 community has run out of patience and, at last, someone at Playground Games has raised their hand. As reported by Vandal, the British studio has publicly acknowledged that it hasn't kept up the level of dialogue with its players that it should have, and says it is considering changes, both to what its updates offer and to how they are communicated. The response comes after months of growing frustration over the game's post-launch support.
Why does it matter? Because the problem isn't the game itself. Forza Horizon 6 launched to a very positive reception, which makes the erosion of goodwill all the more striking. When a title that gets off to a strong start begins losing the trust of its player base, it isn't down to a lack of quality but to a feeling of neglect. And in a live-service game, that feeling can do more damage than any bug.

What you need to know
- Playground Games admits its communication with the Forza Horizon 6 community has fallen short.
- The studio says it will keep releasing content and fixes, and is considering future changes.
- The criticism focuses mainly on the lack of information and on updates that bring little genuinely new content.
- Several creators who specialise in the series have been echoing these complaints for weeks.
- The quality of the game at launch isn't in question: its initial reception was very strong.
A great game held back by its support
The discontent didn't appear overnight. According to Vandal, the community has been voicing its frustration for months, and the focus is very clear: on one hand, the studio's silence; on the other, updates that, for a large share of players, feel more like recycling than a real evolution of the game. When every new season comes across as more of the same, regular players start to wonder whether it's worth logging in at all.
Content creators have played a key role. Those who make a living from videos, streams and guides about Forza were the first to notice the stagnation, because they depend on there being something new to talk about. By keeping the criticism front and centre for weeks, they amplified a sentiment that already existed across the player base and turned scattered frustration into a message that's hard to ignore.
The studio's response
Playground Games has opted for a conciliatory tone. As quoted by Vandal, the studio said:
"We're reading all of your feedback on Forza Horizon 6, and we're aware that we haven't been talking with you as much as we could have."
The team also promises that the flow of content and patches will continue, and that future changes are being considered. That said, there are no concrete details yet on what those changes will involve or when they'll arrive. It's a promise, not a plan.
Our take
Here at Underworld Lordz, we appreciate Playground stepping up, but we're not going to applaud a generic apology as if it were a solution. Admitting you haven't talked to your community enough is the bare minimum, not an achievement. What we want to see is a public roadmap, clear update windows and detailed patch notes. Communication isn't an extra you bolt on when the pressure mounts: it's part of the product, especially in a game that depends on keeping people hooked week after week.
For competitive players, the lack of information hurts even more. If you don't know what's going to be changed, when car balance will shift or whether there will be new content worth continuing to shave down your times for, planning ahead is impossible. Training without knowing where the game is heading is like preparing for a tournament without knowing the rules. And for creators, the studio's silence translates directly into fewer topics, less audience interest and fewer reasons to bet on this game over other titles.
That said, the community's diagnosis is ultimately good news: nobody is asking for Forza Horizon 6 to be rebuilt, just for it to be looked after. The foundation is solid. If Playground turns this statement into action, with content that genuinely adds something and consistent communication, it can win back trust fairly easily. If it stays all talk, the next wave of criticism will be harsher, and rightly so.
What do you think?
We know there are plenty of drivers on the team who have put a lot of hours into Forza Horizon 6, so we want to hear from you. Have you noticed the updates stagnating, or do you think the community is overreacting? Is it enough for you that Playground acknowledges the problem, or do you need to see concrete changes before you trust them again? Let us know in the team chat or on our Discord: are you giving Playground a second chance, or have you already stepped out of the car?
