Hajin, Modern Warfare 4's New Map for DMZ and Warzone: What We Know

Call of Duty has a new battleground. As reported by Dexerto, Hajin has been revealed as the large-scale map that will serve as the foundation for both DMZ and Warzone in Modern Warfare 4. The reveal offers an overview of the terrain and its points of interest (POIs), the named locations that determine where squads drop, where fights break out and how teams rotate throughout each match.
It might seem like minor news, just a quick look at a map, but for anyone who plays seriously it's quite the opposite. In a battle royale or an extraction mode, the map is everything: it shapes routes, rotation timings, hot zones and even which weapons end up dominating the meta. Knowing Hajin before setting foot in it is an advantage, and anyone who starts studying it now will arrive better prepared than everyone else.

What You Need to Know
- Hajin is the Modern Warfare 4 map for the DMZ and Warzone modes.
- It is a large-scale map, designed for big matches.
- The reveal includes an overview of the map and its points of interest.
- The core information comes from Dexerto, which has compiled the POIs shown.
- A single map shared between two modes with very different objectives: survival and extraction.
One Map, Two Ways to Play
The most interesting thing about Hajin isn't just its size, but the fact that it will have to work across two very different experiences. In Warzone, the goal is to be the last team standing: the map keeps closing in, and reading the circle, cover and sightlines decides matches. In DMZ, on the other hand, the key is getting in, completing objectives, grabbing loot and getting out alive, with threats coming from both other players and the AI itself.
Designing a map that shines in both contexts is tricky. What makes a perfect hot-drop POI in Warzone can turn into a dead-end trap in DMZ, or an area nobody visits because the risk isn't worth it. That's why the layout of the points of interest will be crucial: how many there are, how they connect and how well they balance open areas against urban or enclosed ones.
Who It Affects Most
Competitive teams will be the first to get to work: drop routes, standard rotations and strong positions for endgames. Content creators, meanwhile, have a goldmine here: POI guides, the best spots to loot, DMZ routes and first impressions will be among the most searched-for content in the opening weeks. And casual players come out ahead too, because a new map wipes out the advantage of those who have spent years memorizing the old one.
Our Take
Here at the Underworld Lordz newsroom, we're optimistic, but cautiously so. A new large-scale map always brings a breath of fresh air, and Warzone needs one every so often to avoid becoming predictable. However, an overview and a list of POIs say little about what really matters: how it feels to move around the map, whether there are too many dead zones between points of interest, and whether rotations force you to cross open ground without cover, something that gets punished hard in competitive play.
We're also concerned about the shared-map model. If Hajin is designed mainly with one mode in mind, the other could end up falling short. DMZ has a very loyal community that values exploration and tension, while Warzone thrives on pace and constant action. Balancing the two without sacrificing either will be the real test for the developers.
Our advice for competitive players and creators is simple: don't wait for launch to get started. Study the map, figure out which POIs look set to draw the most traffic and plan your first routes. The first days of a new map are chaotic, and whoever shows up with a plan, even if they have to adjust it later, will have the edge over those who improvise.
What Do You Think?
Hajin is now on the table, and the community is already placing its bets. Do you think a single map can work well in both DMZ and Warzone, or will one of the two modes end up losing out? Let us know in the team chat or on our Discord, because we want to hear your first impressions.
