The crossover few saw coming now has a release date. At IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026, the official gameplay for the WWE 2K26 x Street Fighter Elite Pack was revealed, and the pitch is as simple as it is eye-catching: Rey Mysterio dressed as Ryu and Dominik Mysterio stepping into Ken's shoes, going all out in the ring. According to IGN España, both wrestlers will land in Visual Concepts and 2K's game on October 28, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

Why does it matter? Because this isn't just a costume swap. It's the meeting of two giant fighting brands: one real and staged, the other digital and competitive to the core. And the casting is no accident: a father and son, with a rivalry WWE has been milking for a while, playing Capcom's eternal friends and rivals. Story-wise, it fits like a glove.

What you need to know

  • The Street Fighter Elite Pack for WWE 2K26 was revealed with official gameplay at IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026.
  • Rey Mysterio appears dressed as Ryu and Dominik Mysterio as Ken.
  • The content arrives on October 28.
  • It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam).
  • WWE 2K26 is the latest entry in Visual Concepts and 2K's wrestling series.

A crossover that makes a lot of sense (and a lot of marketing)

Crossovers are commonplace in the industry these days, but not all of them have the same logic behind them. This one does: wrestling fans and fighting game fans clearly share the same DNA, a love of one-on-one clashes, characters overflowing with charisma and moments that instantly become clips. Seeing a wrestler of Rey Mysterio's calibre take on the look of Capcom's wandering warrior is, at the very least, a powerful image for social media.

Dominik as Ken isn't a minor detail either. Ken has always been the flashier, cockier half of the duo, and Dominik's role in WWE plays right into that love-to-hate-him energy. Whoever came up with this pairing knows both audiences well.

That said, it's worth being cautious: the source focuses on the gameplay and the two headliners, without detailing any further content, pricing or pack-specific mechanics. Until those details are out, what we have is a spectacular reveal and a clear date.

Our take

Here at Underworld Lordz, we're looking at this with a mix of excitement and healthy scepticism. For content creators, this is pure gold: a wrestling Ryu running wild in a WWE ring is begging for edits, reactions, exhibition matches and community challenges. If you stream fighting or sports games, October 28 hands you content on a plate, and it will probably draw solid search traffic in the first few days.

For the competitive player, it's a different story. WWE 2K has never had a competitive scene comparable to Street Fighter's, and a pack like this lives mostly on looks and surprise value. What we'd like to see is the Capcom nod going beyond visuals: moves that genuinely feel like a Hadoken or a Shoryuken adapted to the ring, not just a nice skin. If it's purely cosmetic, it'll end up as a footnote.

And let's be honest about the model: paid packs in games that already cost a fair amount always raise questions. We don't know yet how much it will cost or exactly what it includes, so our advice is to wait and see the full content before diving in. The idea is brilliant; the execution and real value remain to be seen.

What do you think?

Crossovers between wrestling and fighting games can be a stroke of genius or just a shop window for selling outfits. We think the Mysterio casting is spot on, but we want to hear from you: are you buying the Street Fighter Elite Pack on October 28, or waiting to see whether it offers more than looks? Drop by the team chat or our Discord and tell us which other Capcom characters you'd like to see step into the ring.
