IGN Spain has published a screenshot gallery dedicated to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, the edition that brought together in a single package much of what Capcom built over the course of the game's life. There's no announcement, no patch and no new numbers: according to IGN Spain, the source material is limited to a set of images from the game. Even so, for a community like ours, seeing those stages and characters again is no small thing.
Why does it matter? Because Champion Edition isn't just any version. For many competitive players it was their gateway into tournaments, the game where they learned to read an opponent, punish a mistake and handle the pressure of a grand final. Revisiting it through screenshots is also a way to measure how much the genre has changed and what lessons it left for what came next.

What you need to know
- IGN Spain has shared a screenshot gallery of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.
- The source includes no new content, figures or official statements: it's purely visual material.
- Champion Edition is the most complete version of Street Fighter V, designed to bring together everything the game added over time.
- For the Spanish-speaking competitive scene, this game remains a benchmark for learning and a key part of tournament history.
Context: an edition that changed course
Street Fighter V had a rough start. Its original launch left many players feeling that there wasn't enough content for anyone who didn't live exclusively online, and the community wasted no time making itself heard. From there, Capcom kept expanding the game with characters, stages, system adjustments and additional modes, until it reached an edition that worked as the complete product many people had expected from the start.
Champion Edition embodies the idea of a game that matures in public. For casual players, it was the easiest way to get everything without getting lost among season passes and downloads. For competitive players, it was the standard on which tournaments were played, guides were recorded and tier lists were debated late into the night. Its legacy lies less in its graphics, which the gallery lets you look back on, than in the gaming culture that grew up around it.
Who this gallery is for
Mainly two kinds of people. On one hand, veterans who want to take a trip down memory lane and remember the characters they mained for years. On the other, content creators looking for visual material for retrospectives, comparisons or videos about the evolution of the series. For newcomers to the genre, the images serve as a reminder of where much of today's competitive vocabulary comes from.

Our take
Let's be clear: a screenshot gallery isn't big news. It doesn't change the meta, it doesn't announce a tournament and it doesn't bring any new data. But at Underworld Lordz we believe these moments of pause have value. The fighting game scene moves fast and tends to forget its own chapters; looking back helps us understand why certain design decisions worked and others didn't.
Street Fighter V taught us a lesson worth remembering: a fighting game can launch incomplete and still redeem itself if the studio listens to its community and keeps up its support over time. That doesn't justify releasing half-finished products, and we were critical of that launch. But Champion Edition proved that consistency matters, and that the competitive scene can keep a game alive even through its low points.
For content creators, our advice is to use this kind of material thoughtfully: retrospectives work when they bring context and analysis, not just nostalgia. For players, going back to Street Fighter V can be a good exercise in fundamentals, even if today's competitive focus is on other games.
What do you think?
Was Street Fighter V: Champion Edition the great fighting game of its generation, or a late redemption that never quite won you over?
