New week, new Team of the Week in EA Sports FC 27. EA Sports has released Ultimate Team's TOTW 5, a batch of special cards headlined by Alessia Russo, Patri Guijarro and Elliot Anderson. As always, the selection rewards the players who shone in their leagues over the last round of fixtures. This time, two players from the women's game share the top spot with the highest rating in the squad. The core information in this article comes from Vandal.
Why does it matter? In Ultimate Team, every TOTW shakes up the market, changes plans for Rivals and Champions players, and gives content creators material for packs, squads and challenges. On top of that, these cards have an expiry date: you can only get them for a limited time. If you want any of them in your club, you need to move this week.

What you need to know
- EA Sports FC 27's TOTW 5 is now live in Ultimate Team in Spain and worldwide.
- Alessia Russo (ST, Arsenal) and Patri Guijarro (CM, FC Barcelona) lead the selection with an 89 rating.
- Elliot Anderson (CDM, Manchester City) follows with an 85.
- Several 84-rated cards round out the top end: Cristian Romero, Isco, Florian Thauvin and Ollie Watkins, among others.
- The cards can be obtained until Wednesday, October 21 at 19:00 (mainland Spain time).
The team of the week, card by card
According to the list published by Vandal, these are the standout cards in TOTW 5. The excerpt we have doesn't include the full selection, so we recommend checking the original source if you're looking for a specific player or the whole squad.
| Position | Player | Rating | Club |
|---|---|---|---|
| ST | Alessia Russo | 89 | Arsenal |
| CM | Patri Guijarro | 89 | FC Barcelona |
| CDM | Elliot Anderson | 85 | Manchester City |
| CB | Cristian Romero | 84 | Atlético de Madrid |
| CAM | Isco | 84 | Real Betis |
| RW | Florian Thauvin | 84 | RC Lens |
| ST | Ollie Watkins | 84 | Not specified in the excerpt |
Winners and losers
The most interesting part is in midfield. Patri Guijarro and Elliot Anderson bring two profiles, one for build-up play and one for shielding the defence, in the same TOTW. That gives options to anyone looking for a double pivot with a bit more quality without spending a fortune on event cards. Up front, Russo and Watkins offer two strikers with different styles, and in the attacking midfield role Isco is still a name with plenty of pull among the Spanish-speaking community.
At the back, Romero is the clearest pick in the batch to strengthen your defence. Thauvin, meanwhile, adds an interesting option on the right wing for those playing with Ligue 1 or hybrid squads.

Our take
At Underworld Lordz, we're clear on this: TOTW 5 is a solid but not game-changing week. Having two women share the top rating is good news for the visibility of women's football in the game, and Russo and Guijarro have earned it. The problem is that these cards often end up being more of a collector's item than a meta piece. For competitive players, the question isn't who has the highest rating, but who performs best on the Rivals pitch. That's where you can't just look at the number: animations, physicals and playstyle matter just as much as the rating.
There's also a criticism we can't let slide: the weekly rotation with a deadline pushes people to open packs without thinking. It's a pace that favours those who spend rather than those who play smart. Our advice for the team and for our readers: set a specific goal (a central midfielder, a centre-back) and don't chase the whole batch. The market moves fast, and TOTW cards tend to fall behind the events that come later.
For content creators, on the other hand, this week has plenty to offer. Russo and Guijarro are the perfect excuse to build hybrid squads with the WSL and Liga F, and Isco always gets people talking. There's more than enough material for review videos and in-game tests before October 21.
What do you think?
You've got the team of the week, and the clock is ticking until Wednesday. Are you going after any of these cards, or would you rather save your coins for what's coming next? Which card do you think is the most useful in TOTW 5 for serious play: Patri Guijarro, Elliot Anderson or one of the 84s? Drop by the team chat or our Discord and defend your pick.
